These mouthwatering Hawaiian Ham and Cheese Sliders are perfect little appetizers for your next party, game day, or even as a main course meal.
The perfect combination of melted Swiss cheese and ham sandwiched between a sweet Hawaiian roll drizzled with a buttery brown mustard glaze is just heavenly!
What’s a Slider?
Originally named slider, from the popular food chain White Castle, the original mini burgers were said to be extra greasy and would “slide” right down the throat…hence the name “Sliders”.
These Hawaiian Ham and Cheese sliders won’t slide down your throat and aren’t weighed down by tons of grease. However, they are a delicious take on the original slider, although Swiss cheese and ham made on a Hawaiian bun, they’re still a delicious quick snack, appetizer, or even entree.
How to Make Hawaiian Ham and Cheese Sliders
- First, you’ll start by greasing 2 9×13″ baking pans with cooking spray. Set aside.
- Cut all 24 rolls in half and place 12 bottoms (only) in each pan. Set the tops aside for now.
- Place one folded ham slice on each bottom roll. Cut each cheese slice in half so there are now 24 slices. Place each 1/2 slice of cheese on top of the ham. Place tops of rolls on each sandwich.
- Next, make the butter mustard sauce and drizzle the mixture over the rolls. I actually like to brush the mixture all over the tops and sides of the sandwiches.
- Cover pan with foil and chill in fridge for minimum of 1-2 hours or even overnight. This helps the butter sauce to soak in the bread better.
- Last, bake uncovered at 350 ° F. for about 20 minutes or until cheese is nice and melted and rolls are lightly browned.

Pro Tips:
- If you don’t like or have poppy seeds on hand, try adding “Everything Bagel” seasoning or your favorite kind of seasoning on top.
- Try out your favorite dipping sauces to pair with these sliders.
- Serve alongside chips, French fries, or even a side salad.
- If you don’t like ham, try turkey or chicken deli meat. Likewise, substitute Swiss cheese for Provolone or your favorite type of cheese.
