If you’re looking for a super easy dessert recipe, look no further than this heavenly gluten-free Caramel Apple Dump Cake. Like I said, it’s an easy and simple dessert that tastes like you spent way more time than you actually did.

9x13" casserole dish filled with Caramel Apple Dump Cake and a wooden serving spoon.

This dessert takes several simple ingredients and around 10 minutes to prepare.

All you need is apple pie filling, butter, a jar of caramel sauce, cinnamon & nutmeg, and a bag/box of gluten-free yellow cake mix. I love using the Bob’s Red Mill brand and have used it in other dessert recipes with great results. I’m sure if you use another gluten-free brand it will still turn out delicious.

Also, you can still use regular “gluten” yellow cake mix if you’re not trying to avoid gluten.

How to Make Caramel Apple Dump Cake

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, dump both cans of apple filling in. Add in the cinnamon and nutmeg and stir.

Next, spoon apple pie filling into a greased 9×13″ casserole dish. Using a silicon spatula, evenly spread pie filling around to cover bottom of pan.

Drizzle caramel sauce all over pie filling and swirl around with spatula or spoon.

Then, sprinkle dry cake mix over apple pie filling until it covers it completely.

Last, drizzle melted butter over cake mix and bake in oven for 45-60 minutes.

Ours baked for an hour. Your oven’s temperature varies from mine, therefore you may have to bake yours for the same time or maybe a little less. Just keep an eye on it so it doesn’t burn.

You want the cake mix “crust” to be a light/medium golden brown (like in the pictures).

Once out of oven, allow to cool for about 5 minutes before serving and eating.

Makes 8-10 servings.

Optional Toppings: Top with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream and more caramel sauce.

This was sooo good! I did a half and half and used 1 can of apple pie filling and 1 peach. And I didn’t have gf cake mix, but I had muffin mix…I used that and a little extra gf flour and extra butter. Yum!!! It was a hit!
