This Gluten-Free Honey Walnut Bread is super easy to make and doesn’t require any yeast. It’s got a delicious mild honey flavor that melts in your mouth. Toss in some chopped walnuts and you have yourself one heck of a treat!
There’s nothing quite like a sweet bread. Especially when it’s hot out of the oven and even more so with a little butter melting over the top.
Of course, this bread is a great choice for breakfast, but it’s also delicious as an anytime snack. Or, you can jazz it up and serve it for dessert…just add a little whipped cream and a drizzle of honey and you’re good to go!
This bread would also make a wonderful and thoughtful gift to give to neighbors and friends for the holidays, to say “thank-you”, or just because.
This Gluten-Free Honey Walnut Bread didn’t last long in our house…it was gone the same day it was made! My family said it was one of the best breads they’ve ever eaten. And, I think you will agree that even if it’s not your favorite, its a close second 😉
Can I Substitute the Walnuts?
You can absolutely substitute your favorite nut of choice in place of the walnuts. Or, simply leave them out. Try adding in dried fruits like raisins or cranberries instead of nuts.
Making Gluten-Free Honey Walnut Bread
In a large saucepan, bring the honey, milk, and sugar to a boil, then take saucepan off of the heat and let cool. Make sure to keep an eye on the mixture because it could boil over and cause a mess.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl, sift dry ingredients together.
Add in the nuts, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Add the cooled honey mixture and beat for about two minutes.
Pour batter into well-greased loaf pans. *This recipe will make one large loaf and 4 small loaves or 4 medium sized loaves.
Bake at 325 degrees F. for about 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in middle of bread comes out clean.
NOTE: When baking small loaves, reduce time in half. In other words, the small loaves should only bake for about 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in middle of bread comes out clean.

Is the butter part of the recipe or is it for drizzling over the baked loaf?
Marcie
Hello J Healy,
I apologize, I went in and updated it so in the directions it would state where to add in the melted butter. Add the melted butter in when you add in the nuts, oil, and vanilla extract. I hope this clears things up 😁👍🏼
Take care,
Marcie
