It’s ooey-gooey, finger licking good, DELICIOUS!
What’s Apple Cinnamon Roll Casserole?
This breakfast casserole uses minimal store bought ingredients and all the other items you more than likely already have on hand.
It starts with a layer of cut up cinnamon roll pieces and then layered with 2 cans of apple pie filling that has been lightly spiced with ground cinnamon.
Next, goes another layer of cut up cinnamon roll pieces. Then, you’ll top the whole thing off with an easy homemade cinnamon streusel topping before it goes into the oven.
Once out of the oven, slather the entire thing with homemade scrumptious cream cheese frosting. It melts down into all the nooks and crannies and just really completes the entire dish.
You can serve this for breakfast, brunch, or even dessert. This Apple Cinnamon Roll Casserole is perfect on those crisp, cool autumn weekends.
It’s also very appropriate for the holidays! It makes for an easy Christmas breakfast. You can make this dish the day before and just warm it up on Christmas morning. Serve alongside some of your other favorite breakfast dishes.
Or, serve this up with a hot mug of cocoa for an afternoon treat. Yum!
What are some things I can add to this dish?
I feel the recipe is delicious and sweet enough just the way it is. However, if you feel like jazzing it up just a little, try adding things like:
- Nuts: chopped pecans or walnuts.
- raisins or other dried fruit
- vanilla ice cream or whipped topping
Can Apple Cinnamon Roll Casserole be stored in the freezer?
Yes, it can. Place left over Apple Cinnamon Roll Casserole in an airtight container. Alternatively, place in a freezer safe ziplock bag and make sure air is out before putting in freezer. This will stay fresh tasting for up to 3 months.
