Who doesn’t love a good brownie? These Gluten-Free Nutella Brownies with Chocolate Icing are killer! They are everything you would want in a delicious brownie.
They are fudgy, chocolatey, decadent, and will satisfy any chocolate lovers sweet tooth.
I have actually been working now for weeks on a good gluten-free brownie recipe. I failed in my first two attempts. In both batches I used too much Nutella in the recipe, causing the brownies too be too oily.
I set out again, this time tweaking things a bit and was very happy with the outcome. I think they’re perfect! And, I love that I can share a gluten-free version with you all.
Additionally, these brownies are also made in one bowl. That means less dishes to dirty and have to wash, wahoo!
Let’s Make Fabulous Nutella Brownies
First, start out by preheating the oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, start by adding in the softened butter and both sugars and beat the mixture so it’s creamy.
Next, add in the vanilla extract, eggs, and Nutella and continue to beat mixture.
Following, add in all of the dry ingredients. Blend everything until the mixture is smooth.
Finally, toss in the bittersweet chocolate chips. This step is optional, but I love a little extra chocolate in my brownies. Trust me, just add them in 🙂
Lastly, grease and flour an 8″ square cake pan. Pour the batter in and bake for about 30 minutes. Keep an eye on them so they don’t overbake!
Chocolate Icing on the Brownies
Meanwhile, lets make the icing while the brownies are baking. This icing recipe is ridiculously easy to make, yet tastes like a million bucks.
In a bowl, mix the softened butter, cacao powder, corn syrup, and vanilla extract. Carefully pour in the powdered sugar a little at a time until fully incorporated.
Last, pour in the heavy cream one tablespoon at a time. Blend everything until super smooth.
Spread the chocolate icing all over the brownies while they’re still warm.
Recipe makes 12 servings.
Happy Eating!

Can these work if you use almond milk? Double whammy no gluten or dairy to consider.
Marcie
Use almond milk in place of the cream in the icing recipe? I assume you could, although, it wouldn’t have the same consistency as the heavy cream would have. Keep in mind there is also butter in the brownie and icing recipe as well so it wouldn’t be entirely dairy free with that in it too.
