The flavors of melty cheese and ham sandwiched between a sweet Hawaiian roll drizzled with a buttery brown mustard glaze is just heavenly.

Equipment

  • 2 9x13" ceramic or glass baking dish

Ingredients

  • 2 dozen Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 2 8 oz. Packages thin sliced ham
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 c. Butter, melted
  • 3 TBSP. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 TBSP. Brown mustard
  • 1 tsp. Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. Onion powder
  • 1/2-1 TBSP. Poppy seeds

Instructions

  • Grease 2 9x13" baking pans with cooking spray. Set aside.
  • Cut all 24 rolls in half and place 12 bottoms (only) in each pan. Set the tops aside for now.
  • Place one folded ham slice on each bottom roll. Cut each cheese slice in half so there are now 24 slices. Place each 1/2 slice of cheese on top of the ham. Place tops of rolls on each sandwich.
  • Next, make the butter mustard sauce and drizzle the mixture over the rolls. I actually like to brush the mixture all over the tops and sides of the sandwiches. Sprinkle tops with sesame seeds.
  • Cover pan with foil and chill in fridge for minimum of 1 hour before baking. This helps the butter sauce to soak in the bread better. Can also be made ahead of time and chilled overnight.
  • Bake uncovered at 350° F. for about 20 minutes or until cheese is nice and melted and rolls are lightly browned.
