Caramel Apple Dump Cake

This Caramel Apple Dump Cake is so easy to make. It's filled with spices, caramel sauce and topped with a delicious buttery cake mix topping. It's perfect topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream and drizzled with warm caramel sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 21 oz. cans of apple pie filling
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/16 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 c. caramel sauce
  • 19 oz. package gluten-free yellow cake mix, ex. Bob's Red Mill brand
  • 1/2 c. butter, melted

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large bowl, dump both cans of apple filling in. Add in the cinnamon and nutmeg and stir.
  • Next, spoon apple pie filling into a greased 9x13" casserole dish. Using a silicon spatula, evenly spread pie filling around to cover bottom of pan.
  • Drizzle caramel sauce all over pie filling and swirl around with spatula or spoon.
  • Then, sprinkle dry cake mix over apple pie filling until it covers it completely.
  • Last, drizzle melted butter over cake mix and bake in oven for 45-60 minutes.
  • Ours baked for an hour. Your oven's temperature varies from mine, therefore you may have to bake yours for the same time or maybe a little less. Just keep an eye on it so it doesn't burn. 
  • You want the cake mix "crust" to be a light/medium golden brown (like in the pictures).
  • Once out of oven, allow to cool for about 5 minutes before serving and eating. 
  • Makes 8-10 servings.
  • Optional Toppings: Top with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream and more caramel sauce.
